Credentials Evaluation

IERF's equivalency policy is determined by examining world educational systems, including the U.S., and how a program best fits into the U.S. system. The salient criteria are:

Each evaluation report represents the considered judgment of at least two qualified credentials evaluators certifying to the validity of the opinion expressed, in accordance with guidelines established by the former National Council for the Evaluation of Foreign Educational Credentials and a comprehensive analysis based on principles of applied comparative education.

Staff Qualifications and Experience


Our staff is comprised of highly qualified and experienced evaluators/researchers, evaluator assistants and client service representatives, some of whom have been in the field of international education for more than twenty years. We have published articles, made presentations, served on committees and held office in the major national professional associations. We are a Charter Member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES®) and bring the expertise of at least two trained evaluators to each report we issue. With nearly 40 years of experience and fluency in all major languages, IERF has successfully issued over 500,000 credentials evaluation reports for over 1,000 colleges and universities, professional organizations, state licensing boards, U.S. government agencies, attorneys and individuals.

Over 20 Languages

IERF has a multinational and multilingual staff, many of whom have studied outside the United States. We are fluent in over 20 languages, including Afrikaans, Arabic, Bamanankan, Bengali, Bulgarian, Cantonese Chinese, Croatian, Danish, Filipino, French, German, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Marathi, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Taiwanese and Vietnamese.

Library

IERF has an extensive library with over 20,000 publications. Our collection is comprised of volumes on general comparative international education, country and region-specific educational systems, and information on training programs in various vocational and professional fields around the world (e.g., allied health, engineering, etc.). Our resources also include catalogs from all major academic institutions worldwide, including the United States. These catalogs span over half a century and allow our evaluators/researchers to compare U.S. and international curricula and programs of study. All these publications are maintained and updated by our staff librarian.

Technology

IERF utilizes the most advanced technology to maintain a comprehensive electronic database on international educational systems, to exchange information with professional contacts worldwide (e.g., Ministries of Education, academic institutions, professional organizations, etc.) and to disseminate information on educational systems within the international community.
